The Toronto EMS First Aid and CPR program is approved and authorized by the Workplace Safety Insurance Board (WSIB) and follows international CPR guidelines (ILCOR)

Standard First Aid and CPR Program:

2 Day Course

1. Emergency Scene Management
2. Heart attack and Stroke
3. Airway and Breathing Emergencies
4. Adult/Infant/Child CPR and Choking Sequences
5. Wounds and Bleeding, Shock, Levels of Consciousness
6. Burns
7. Fractures
8. Sudden Illnesses: Diabetes, Seizures, Allergies, Asthma
9. Demonstration on how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Cost: $90 per person with ten or more registered - including book, quick reference flip chart, certification

Emergency First Aid and Heartsaver CPR Program

(Adult CPR or Infant/Child CPR)

1. Emergency Scene Management
2. Heart attack and Stroke
3. Wounds and Bleeding, Shock, Levels of Consciousness
4. Airway and Breathing Emergencies
5. Adult CPR and Choking Sequences OR Infant/Child CPR and Choking Sequences
6. Demonstration on how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Duration: 8 hours

Cost: $70 per person ($60 per person with ten or more registered) - including book, quick reference flip chart, certification

Adult, Child, Infant Basic Rescuer CPR (Level C) Program

1. Emergency Scene Management
2. The Chain of Survival
3. Heart & lung structure and function
4. Heart disease, heart attack, and stroke
5. Airway and breathing emergencies
6. Adult CPR
7. Infant / Child CPR
8. Choking sequences for conscious and unconscious victims
9. Demonstration on how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Duration: Approximately 8 hours

Cost: $60 with ten or more registered - including CPR book and certification

Adult only Heartsaver CPR (Level A) Program

1. The chain of survival
2. Heart and lung structure and function
3. Heart disease, heart attack, and stroke
4. Airway and breathing emergencies
5. Adult CPR
6. Choking sequences for conscious and unconscious victims
7. Demonstration on how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

Duration: 4 hours

Cost: $40 including CPR book and certification

CPR Level C (adult/infant/child) Recertification

Duration: 3-5 hours

Infant and Child Emergency Course

This course is designed for parents with limited time and patience who want to learn hands on emergency techniques without background information discussed in a certified course. This course is fully customizable and can include whatever topic of interest as well as certification if interested.

Topics discussed include:

3. Wounds and Bleeding
4. Bandaging Techniques
5. Burns
6. Bee stings
7. Sprains & Fractures
8. Splinting Techniques
